ABR Aviation Services is Australasia's largest privately owned provider of GSE (Ground Support Equipment) maintenance and leasing to commercial airlines throughout Australia. With over 14 years of experience, a solid reputation of total commitment to customer service has been built and ABR are seen as an industry leader.
ABR knew that a single company portal was essential for their staff to easily access company information and documents. They needed to make training material, policies, procedures and work instructions available to their staff in a centralised location. Document collaboration had also been a difficulty with the old storage system, their 'M-Drive' – with duplicate versions of the same document, no one knew which one was the final copy.
Already having invested in Office365, ABR were looking to take full advantage of the SharePoint platform and its document management features. The intranet's goal would be to transform the way ABR communicate with their staff and enable document collaboration.
Novo IT Solution
After talking to ABR, Novo IT recognised the same problems that many organisations have with storing and accessing their documents. Novo IT spent some time working with ABR to establish what features and configuration would best meet their business goals.
Novo IT were able to guide ABR through the SharePoint Intranet product to create an understanding of how the final solution would be delivered. After the workshops, the requirements were gathered and the intranet was built on ABR's Office365 platform and Novo IT worked with the incumbent IT provider to launch the intranet.
Novo IT turned a basic SharePoint site into an operational Intranet specifically for ABR's requirements. "Using SharePoint ABR can better coordinate projects, share information, store and retrieve records" says Alan Braithwaite, Executive Director and Co-Founder.
The Intranet offers a clean, user friendly interface which is broken down by department. Users are now able to access training materials online as well as documents necessary for their job.
"We have had many positive comments on our new SharePoint site", says Braithwaite. "The implementation of SharePoint has made day-to-day tasks easier, as well as ensuring employee confidentiality for sensitive documents."
